Marie-Pierre BEL
Sculptor, Bronze chiseling, Chassing, contemporary art, model bronze
Bernard WERNER (....-2020) Craft National Living Treasures former Student
Marie Pierre Bel was born into a family of artists and artisans, a background that predisposed her to enter the École Boulle, where she initially trained in bronze mounting, chiseling. In 1994, she perfected herself in chasing orfevrerie in the workshop of Guénot. In 1996, she joined the workshop of Bernard Werner, with whom she mastered her craft and acquired in bronze turning.
She subsequently developed her own activity and made models and prototypes for architect and designers like Philippe Parent and Nicolas Aubagnac.
Now under her artist’s name, Mapie BelGary devotes herself entirely to creating her own pieces in bronze finely chiseled. She is inspired by human encounters, expressions and moods. Just as a sculptor models his or her shapes and a painter lays down colors, the bronze artist chisels the metal with force, producing details that catch the light.
Installed in Normandy and Ile de France, she innovates in a traditional know-how gesture to transport you to a futuristic modernity of an unusual wold.
The Light dictates the sense of reading and Gold, the dimension of eternity.
