The Cornille-Havard company, bell moulder for centuries now, has known how to deal with the newest technologies in order to develop them for the enrichment of the bell making art and for the renovation of patrimony.
The Cornille-havard bell foundry company is the first in the world to model bell outlines on computer, which enables it to refine its lines and to rediscover the lines used by dead founders. The composition and the quality of the moulding materials are used in order to obtain high metallurgical qualities.
The mastery of the bell outlines enables us to integrate modern and ancient bells in harmony in old buildings. We can also “tune”, to some extent, old bells which would not be consonant any longer.
Our financial and technical means are those of a craftsman, but thanks to the collaboration of the ISMRA (the engineering school of Caen) and the Arsenal de Cherbourg Centre of Research and Direction of Shipbuilding, we can reach high levels of skills, in particular on vibrating phenomena and on building damages, levels that are not reached anywhere else.
Cornille-Havard is the heir of a tradition which has been located in Villedieu-les-Poêles, in Normandy, near the Mont Saint Michel, since the end of Middle Ages.
