Cabinetmaker
Henri DESGRIPPES (1926-2015) Craft National Living Treasures former Student
Furniture and works of art for individuals, museums and merchants, are entrusted, conserved and restored in the warm workshop created by Claude Lévy and the master artist Henri Desgrippes, rue de Varenne in Paris.
Christian Divaret, student of the master artist in 1994, impassioned by the wood material, art history, old and new techniques, works with three cabinetmakers from the Boulle School.
Clients appeal to the know-how of this renowned workshop for the knowledge of the different essences of wood, for the knowledge of the different periods of furniture (from the XVIIth to the XXth centuries) and for the quality of the finishings (varnish satin-finish stamp). The respect of the objets d’art and their treatment on different levels of conservation in agreement with the client, added to the knowledge passed down by several generations, make a workshop of excellence.
