Antoine LEPERLIER
Glass artist
Craft National Living Treasures 1994
Antoine Leperlier essentially expresses himself through an original material , glass paste, whose mastery requires meticulous technical knowledge and workmanship. His talent for working into glass made him famous all over the world. The Americans particularly admire him and, except private collections, many of his works are on show in the Corning Museum of Glass, state of New York , as well as in the High Museum in Atlanta. As for the other countries, Japan can be quoted with its Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, as well as Switzerland with its Musée de l’Ariana in Geneva or the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Lausanne.
As a contemporary artist, Antoine Leperlier has already exhibited his works and still exhibits them in art galleries and museums. To get a complete list of his exhibitions, the book made on the occasion of a retrospective in the museum of Evreux (France) is a reference. It is entitled Antoine Leperlier, 30250 Aubais, 1999 ( introduction by Gérard Guillot-Chêne, curator of the museum of Evreux ; an interview of Antoine Leperlier by Jean-Marie Lhôte). Besides, an interview of the artist by Hervé Landry was published in 1991.
